Jefferson faced University in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Hawks. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Serf Guerra made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Rolfe, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Engle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only posted an OBP of .444.

Jefferson's record is now 6-1. As for University, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Spring Mills on the 31st. As for University, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-8 defeat against The Linsly School on the 31st.
