Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Skates Past Desert Mirage with Ease

While Coachella Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Desert Mirage RAMS 65-10. The Mighty Arabs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 29 points or more this season.

Joe Beltran was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and six steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Franky Aguirre, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Coachella Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Desert Mirage, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Coachella Valley and Xavier Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Desert Mirage, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cathedral City at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
