HICO, Texas -
Stamford (Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Bo Wimberly threw a touchdown to
Zai Zai Smith with with 1:00 left in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Hico (Texas) 34-26.
The Bulldogs led 20-12 at halftime, but the Tigers regained the lead on a two-point conversion with 6:00 remaining in the third.
Stamford saw its 8-point halftime lead decrease to seven entering the fourth.
SHS led by as many as 14 points before Hico cut into the final margin.
HHS came in allowing just 14.6 points per game this season. The Tigers had a hard time against Stamford's offense, who entered the game scoring 39.8 points per game.
The loss comes after Hico defeated Goldthwaite 14-7 last week.
