Marco Island Academy found their leader in underclassman Nick Sadler, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Sadler has scored at least 25% of Marco Island Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Rodden, who scored 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, The Village School of Naples lost to Donahue Catholic at home by a decisive 62-48 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, The Village School of Naples can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Donahue Catholic is ranked 86th).
Marco Island Academy's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Mason Classical Academy's defeat dropped them down to 0-2.
Marco Island Academy came up short against The Village School of Naples in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-48. Can Marco Island Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
