There's no place like home for Northwest Rankin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Choctaw Central Warriors by a score of 61-53 on Tuesday. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Northwest Rankin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deshawn Dillon out in front who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Sanders, who put up 14 points and six boards.

Northwest Rankin was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwest Rankin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Choctaw Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Northwest Rankin will face off against Terry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Choctaw Central, they will square off against Madison-Ridgeland Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 65.2 points per game this season.
