Larimore may have come out ahead in their last match, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they take on New Rockford-Sheyenne at 7:00 PM. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Larimore skips in on three wins and New Rockford-Sheyenne on six.
Larimore fell to Cavalier 18-48 three weeks ago; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Larimore strolled past Cavalier with points to spare last Friday, taking the contest 48-30. Senior Carsen Thorsell was the offensive standout of the match for Larimore, as he rushed for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns.
New Rockford-Sheyenne won against Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page with 66 points, and New Rockford-Sheyenne decided to stick to that point total again. New Rockford-Sheyenne steamrollered Lakota/Dakota Prairie 66-8. Followers of New Rockford-Sheyenne probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected six blowout victories.
Their wins bumped Larimore to 4-2 and New Rockford-Sheyenne to 6-0. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
