King-Chavez Community's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 48-29 bruising from School for Entrepreneurship & Technology.
Meanwhile, Mountain Empire came up short against Monarch on Thursday and fell 55-47.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andrew Sepulveda, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Corey Vann was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
King-Chavez Community's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.5 points per game. As for Mountain Empire, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
King-Chavez Community was taken down by Mountain Empire 51-16 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can King-Chavez Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
