The Glenwood Springs Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Durango Demons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Durango took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenwood Springs, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Glenwood Springs strolled past the Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 60-44. Given Glenwood Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Huskies are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glenwood Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sim Wenger out in front who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. Wenger hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Argeny Renteria was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Durango's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-43 to Palisade.
Glenwood Springs' victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Durango, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Glenwood Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Demons in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win.
