The Fairfield Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milford. Fairfield has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myka Richardson, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals. Kimberlin Samples was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Cayden Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey McKenney, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Fairfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Milford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colerain is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. Milford will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on February 15th.
