The Logan Grizzlies will face off against the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan will be strutting in after a victory while Ridgeline will be coming in after a loss.
Ridgeline will be up against a hot Logan team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Logan was the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Mountain Crest on Thursday.
Logan never let Mountain Crest on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.
Logan found their leader in sophomore Eric Fuentes, who had six aces and one assist. Kaleb Lopez also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Logan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline came up short against Stansbury on Friday and fell 3-1. While the Riverhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stallions 25-14 in the first set.
Ridgeline started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.
Logan will have to keep a close watch on Jentzen Budge and Matthew Hanson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Ridgeline's prior game. Budge had 17 digs, while Hanson had nine kills, five digs, and four aces. Those four aces gave Hanson a new career-high.
Ridgeline's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Logan, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
Logan was able to grind out a solid victory over Ridgeline in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Logan repeat their success, or does Ridgeline have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
