Laney has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Laney Buccaneers and the Hoggard Vikings will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Laney focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday.

Shark Baynard put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hezron Driver, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Hoggard posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over Ashley. Given Hoggard's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Ashley is ranked 321st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Laney's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2. As for Hoggard, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Laney skirted past Hoggard 54-51 in their previous matchup on January 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laney since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
