The Hanford West Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Reedley Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hanford West will be strutting in after a victory while Reedley will be coming in after a defeat.
Hanford West came out on top against Sierra Pacific on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Huskies walked away with a 9-4 win over the Golden Bears. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Golden Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Kayhlen Boring made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Keira Nunes and Kennidy Perryman did most of the damage at the plate: Nunes went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Perryman went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Xyleen Valladares also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Reedley came up short against Kerman on Tuesday and fell 9-6. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly three runs.
Jocelyn Fonseca made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamilah Taylor, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hanford West pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Reedley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hanford West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Reedley struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Hanford West's way against Reedley when the teams last played on April 1st, as Hanford West made off with a 9-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
