Greenville can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Yazoo City 34-6 at home. Greenville's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Michael Hodges went supernova for Greenville, rushing for 230 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Titus, who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Gentry fell victim to Canton's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell to the Tigers 6-0.
Greenville's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Gentry, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Greenville lost to Gentry at home by a decisive 21-6 margin when the teams last played back in August of 2022.
