The Nelson Island Islanders can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Nuniwarmiut on the road to the tune of 96-53. 96 seems to be a good number for Nelson Island as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Nelson Island was led to victory by Jaden Carl and Brennan Lincoln. Carl scored 31 points, while Lincoln scored 44 points. It was the first time this season that Carl scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Abram Tretikoff, who scored seven points.
Nelson Island is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Nuniwarmiut, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Chaputnguak the next time they take the court. Nelson Island will host Chaputnguak at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Nuniwarmiut will host them at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
