The Morningside Academy Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Altamonte Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Morningside Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Altamonte Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Melbourne Central Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Morningside Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 47-42 W over the Hustlers.
Morningside Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marvin Tidas led the charge by scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Clark, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Altamonte Christian lost to East River on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Altamonte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while East River is ranked 95th).
Morningside Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Altamonte Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
