South Lenoir hasn't had much luck against North Lenoir recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
South Lenoir's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Wallace-Rose Hill 19-0. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gage Howard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Reed Davis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Lenoir kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, North Lenoir made easy work of James Kenan on Tuesday and carried off a 19-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Garrett Byrd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Byrd was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Mason Sasser and Wriston Honeycutt dominated on the mound. Sasser went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Honeycutt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Back at the plate, Carter Chadwick was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Miller, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
South Lenoir is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Lenoir, their record now sits at 14-7.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Lenoir hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. However, it's not like North Lenoir struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Lenoir couldn't quite finish off North Lenoir in their previous meeting back in March and fell 4-2. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
