After flying high against the Millville Thunderbolts last Monday, the St. Augustine Prep Hermits came back down to earth. St. Augustine Prep suffered a tough 70-49 loss at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, St. Augustine Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Panthers are ranked tenth).
Middle Township was led to victory by Bubba McNeil and Jamir McNeil. McNeil scored 14 points along with two steals, while McNeil scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. McNeil has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Michael Zarfati was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
St. Augustine Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Middle Township, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.
St. Augustine Prep will face off against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Middle Township, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
