Coral Springs has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Monarch Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Monarch is ranked 52nd).
After soaring to 36 points the game before, Coral Springs were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost to Boyd Anderson at home by a decisive 21-6 margin.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Monarch's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 35-19 bruising from St. Thomas Aquinas. Monarch was down 35-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Monarch's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jabari Brady, who picked up 125 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jack Spaeder who threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Clayton Cannon ii also helped out as he racked up 104 receiving yards.
The losses dropped Coral Springs to 4-4 and Monarch to 6-2.
Coral Springs took a serious blow against Monarch when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 40-0. Can Coral Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
