Pymatuning Valley is 0-4 against Brookfield since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Lakers will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pymatuning Valley sitting on five straight victories and Brookfield on four.
On Wednesday, Pymatuning Valley got the win against Grand Valley by a conclusive 11-1.
The team relied heavily on McKenna Jordan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Castle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pymatuning Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Brookfield made easy work of Liberty on Monday and carried off a 15-4 win. Considering the Warriors have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cassi Samios made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Samios was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brookfield got a massive performance out of Mariah Norris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Alana Jervis was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Pymatuning Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Brookfield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pymatuning Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. However, it's not like Brookfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pymatuning Valley might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Brookfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Will the Lakers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
