Forest Hills came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They slipped by West Stanly 59-58 on Tuesday. The win was just what Forest Hills needed coming off of a 56-36 loss in their prior match.
Joshua Rivera and Amari Melton were among the main playmakers for Forest Hills as the former scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and the latter scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Huntley, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Central Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 76-25 loss at the hands of Piedmont. Central Academy has not had much luck with Piedmont recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Central Academy had strong showings from Michael Hoff, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Emmett Lashbrook, who scored five points. That was a full 48% of Central Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Central Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-6) when they can't control their own glass like that.
The victory got Forest Hills back to even at 10-10. As for Central Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Forest Hills hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.6 points per game. It's a different story for Central Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 36.5 points per game. The only thing between Forest Hills and another offensive beatdown is Central Academy. Will they be able to keep them contained?
