The Rootstown Rovers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 57-49 to Aquinas. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rootstown in their matchups with Aquinas: they've now lost seven in a row.
It was another big night for Bronson Gilyard, who scored 29 points along with two steals for Aquinas. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilyard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeante Brown, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Rootstown's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Aquinas, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Rootstown will be playing at home against Ravenna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenna is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Aquinas, they will head out on the road to challenge Triway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triway presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aquinas in Ohio (Triway is ranked 163rd, while Aquinas is ranked 406th).
