The Randle Lions entered their tilt with the Rudder Rangers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Randle took down Rudder 43-24 on Friday. Given Randle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Rudder is ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landen Callis-Williams, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. DeMeco Harvey also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
Rudder's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jaquise Martin, who picked up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Martin's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Bruce Hendrick, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Randle's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Rudder, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Randle will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Huntsville at 7:30 p.m. As for Rudder, they will head out on the road to face off against Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
