The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 70-48 defeat at the hands of Shorecrest. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Edmonds-Woodway in their matchups with the Scots: they've now lost seven in a row.
Edmonds-Woodway's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dj Karl, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Karl has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Grant Williams, who scored ten points.
Edmonds-Woodway's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Shorecrest, they pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Edmonds-Woodway will head out on the road to challenge the Stormrays at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shorecrest, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Arlington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully the Scots like a good challenge.
