The Union Redhawks and the Jenks Trojans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Union Redhawks had to settle for second. They took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Union's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jino Boyd. Despite the final result, he picked up 152 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boyd was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Jenks, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jenks will face off against Bixby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bixby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Jenks likes a good challenge.
