The Cameron Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Bishop LeBlond Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Cameron has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Cameron will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Lawson, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Dragons came out on top against the Cardinals on Monday by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Gannon Hamilton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Carter Flick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Bishop LeBlond never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over East Buchanan. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Christian Anderson and Jake Winkelbauer did most of the damage at the plate: Anderson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Winkelbauer got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Bishop LeBlond is 2-1 when Winkelbauer posts two or more runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Jackson CDeBaca was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cameron's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Bishop LeBlond, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-12.
Cameron beat Bishop LeBlond 5-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
