Lakeshore scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Salmen 86-72.
Meanwhile, William Blount had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They secured a 69-63 W over Anderson County. Given William Blount's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Anderson County is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
William Blount relied on the efforts of Grady Robertson, who scored 23 points along with six assists, and Caden Windle, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The game was Windle's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Trevor Scarlett was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lakeshore pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for William Blount, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Lakeshore lost to William Blount on the road by a decisive 83-68 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Lakeshore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
