It was a good run, but the Macon County Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Taylor County at home by a decisive 61-47 margin. Macon County has struggled against Taylor County recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Macon County saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Cochran scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cochran has scored all season. Aliyah Lake was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Macon County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Taylor County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Macon County will head out on the road to face off against Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester is on a five-game streak of home wins, Macon County a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Taylor County will take on Chattahoochee County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
