Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hancock). They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over the Hyde Park Thunderbirds on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Vincente Caldamone made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ryan Ostrowski was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Robert Morales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
Hancock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
