The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged Kiowa out 46-43. That's another feather in the cap for Miami-Yoder, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Gavin Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cesar Beltran, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Miami-Yoder has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Kiowa, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Calhan is coming into the game with four straight defeats at home, meaning Miami-Yoder will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Kiowa, they will head out on the road to face off against Peetz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kiowa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
