Oasis is 8-2 against Neumann since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Oasis Sharks will be playing at home against the Neumann Celtics at 6:00 p.m. Oasis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Oasis took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Seacrest Country Day 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sharks have posted since March 12, 2024.
Kyra Cavender was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Cavender was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kaitlyn McGee was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Audrey Doan, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Neumann's offense. They lost 7-0 to Evangelical Christian on Thursday. The Celtics haven't had much luck with the Sentinels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Oasis pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.8 hits in those games compared to only four in the others. As for Neumann, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Neumann's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oasis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. It's a different story for Neumann, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Oasis' hitters?
Oasis came up short against Neumann when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 12-7. Can Oasis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
