The McKean Highlanders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past First State Military Academy 56-25 at home. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded McKean with their most commanding win of the season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McKean to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dolores Samson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Samson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexus Barlow, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
McKean's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for First State Military Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-18.
McKean won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against DuPont at 3:30 p.m. on February 13th. DuPontpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McKean in Delaware (DuPont is ranked sixth, while McKean is ranked 53rd). First State Military Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays William Penn at 4:00 p.m. on February 13th.
