Softball Recap: Beal City Has No Trouble Against Vestaburg

Beal City never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Vestaburg Wolverines as they made off with a 16-0 victory. Considering the Aggies have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Block and Macy Johnston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Block pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Johnston tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. At bat, Block went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Johnston went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Block has posted over her last seven contests.

In other batting news, Lauren Gross was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Dodak, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Beal City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vestaburg only posted an OBP of .125.

Beal City's record now sits at 28-8. As for Vestaburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 26-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Beal City nor Vestaburg have any future games scheduled.
