After flying high against Sparta  last Monday, Hurley came back down to earth. Hurley lost  24-14 to the Early Panthers on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Monday (13), the Tigers still had to take the loss.
 Addy Maxwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and 22 unearned) runs on 12 hits.
 On the hitting side,  Madi Conrad and  Jaema Schimmels stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Conrad  scored five  runs while  getting on base  in all six of her plate appearances, while  Schimmels  went 3-for-6 with six  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Erica Flores, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Hurley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hurley will take on Wheaton at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Early, they will challenge Pleasant Hope at 5:00  p.m.  on April 3.
