Marianna has been on the road for nine straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Maclay Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marianna has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 216 points over their last three matches.
Marianna posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. They put the hurt on Malone with a sharp 72-48 win. Given Marianna's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Malone is ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marianna had a senior duo take command as Ryan Peace scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals and Nikyan Harvey scored 19 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden Holmes, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Maclay's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 53-33 defeat at the hands of Chiles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Maclay has suffered since December 16, 2023.
Marianna pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Maclay, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Marianna was taken down by Maclay 62-27 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Marianna, Blaise Wallace (who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
