The Elgin Academy Hilltoppers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Christian Liberty 71-49. With Elgin Academy ahead 41-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Elgin Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rahul Gowda led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Gowda set a new season high mark in assists with ten. Another player making a difference was Chris Tacher, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Elgin Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Christian Liberty, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2.
Elgin Academy will take on Illinois Math & Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christian Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Westlake Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
