CONCORD, N.C. -
Concord (N.C.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 14 points, drop to seven before the final whistle blew on a 21-14 victory over
A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, N.C.).
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at seven. The Spiders took the lead for good on a
B.J. Beecher touchdown pass to
Zoshua Heilig with 1:00 to go in the third quarter.

Dante Pinkston made a difference for the Wonders. The senior halfback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
CHS entered the contest giving up 18.8 points per game this year. The Spiders held firm on the defensive front, and kept A.L. Brown well below the 39.5 points it had been averaging per game.
Concord got revenge for last year's 31-26 loss to ALB with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for A.L. Brown, which notched a 49-20 victory over Northwest Cabarrus in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for CHS, which was coming off a 24-21 defeat at the hands of Hickory Ridge in its previous game.
