The Wewoka Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 75-57 bruising from Carnegie. While losing is never fun, Wewoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Carnegie is ranked 101st).
Jalen Wallace continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carnegie, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 assists. The match was Wallace's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Eddie Mandrell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Wewoka's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Carnegie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Wewoka will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Destiny Christian at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. After both having extra time off, Carnegie and Temple will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Temple comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
