Weeki Wachee can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They really took it to Citrus for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-13 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-5.
Weeki Wachee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marlee Schumacher, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Schumacher hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Joelys Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Central, who are still winless after their 15th game. They were dealt a 46-8 defeat at the hands of Hernando on Friday. Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-3.
Weeki Wachee's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Central, their loss was their 18th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-15.
Everything came up roses for Weeki Wachee against Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-11 victory. Will Weeki Wachee repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
