Jamestown has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tabb Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jamestown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Tabb likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Jamestown gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past York 71-7 on the road. Given Jamestown's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while York is ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamestown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Leach led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Leach is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raini Mayo, who scored 16 points along with nine steals.
Meanwhile, Tabb's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poquoson. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tabb in their matchups with Poquoson: they've now lost five in a row.
Jamestown pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Tabb, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Everything came up roses for Jamestown against Tabb in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 59-27 win. Will Jamestown repeat their success, or does Tabb have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
