The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Fausz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Newport Central Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport Central Catholic will head out to take on Conner at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holy Cross, they will venture away from home to face off against Harrison County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
