The Richmond Raiders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on Lee County with a sharp 34-13 victory. The result was nothing new for Richmond, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Richmond can attribute much of their success to Jaliel Green, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Green is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Domonic Tillman was another key contributor, rushing for three yards and two touchdowns.
Richmond's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was K'Mauri Morgan and his two sacks.
Richmond has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Lee County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Scotland the next time they take the field. Lee County will host Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Richmond will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th.
