Basketball Game Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. Anclote Sharks + Official Tickets

Fivay is 8-2 against Anclote since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Sharks at 6:30 p.m. Fivay knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Anclote likes a good challenge.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fivay and Zephyrhills meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 56-31 margin over the Bulldogs. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Tahlia Vazquez produced another solid effort almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alenna Giron, who posted eight points and four steals.

Fivay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Anclote was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 43-28 bruising from East Lake. On the bright side, the 28- point performance marked the Sharks' highest-scoring game to date.

Fivay's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Anclote, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Fivay against Anclote in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 61-33 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sharks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
