After losing to the Hobart Brickies the last time they met, the Kankakee Valley Kougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Kankakee Valley strolled past Hobart with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-32. Given Kankakee Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Hobart is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Hobart saw an underclassman step up: Riley Weber scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Kankakee Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Hobart, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kankakee Valley will face off against Morgan Township at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Morgan Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Hobart, they will head out on the road to face off against Andrean at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th.
