After losing to the McNeil Mavericks the last time they met, the Stony Point Tigers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Stony Point managed a 41-35 win over McNeil on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Stony Point.
Mary Bortels continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Ofunrein, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Stony Point has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for McNeil, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Stony Point will be playing in front of their home fans against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manor is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for McNeil, they will head out on the road to take on Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McNeil in Texas (Cedar Ridge is ranked 89th, while McNeil is ranked 458th).
