Softball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Lampeter-Strasburg won the last time they faced Cedar Crest and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Natalie Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Lampeter-Strasburg got a massive performance out of Alaina Brenneman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Brenneman has posted since back in April of 2024. Leah Devlin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Lampeter-Strasburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Lampeter-Strasburg's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Lampeter-Strasburg will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Solanco at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.6, the Golden Mules 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cedar Crest, they will head out on the road to face off against Penn Manor at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
