The ASU Prep Sun Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of BASIS - Scottsdale. The result was an unpleasant reminder to ASU Prep of the 48-29 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2018.
BASIS - Scottsdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaryan Dwvedi, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Blake Tropper, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
ASU Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
ASU Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against BASIS - Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. BASIS - Scottsdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
