The Fisher Bunnies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the road by a decisive 43-27 margin. While losing is never fun, Fisher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley is ranked 150th).
Defeat or not, Fisher got some senior leadership from Jenna Clemmons who scored four points along with eight rebounds and Melina Luyando who scored five points along with three steals.
Fisher now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Fisher will head out on the road to face off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lexington is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley will take on Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
