The Wonewoc-Center Wolves will head out to square off against the Seneca Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wonewoc-Center is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against La Farge as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-11, 25-17.
Wonewoc-Center can attribute much of their success to Lily Riffey, who had four digs and four aces, and Faith Daugs, who had six digs and three assists. That's the most aces Riffey has posted since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Wonewoc-Center was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matches.
Seneca won the last time they faced De Soto and Emma Manning did her part to make sure it happened again. The Indians walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Pirates last Tuesday for which the team can thank Manning, who had 26 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 25-20.
Wonewoc-Center's record is now 14-9. As for Seneca, their record now sits at 24-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Wonewoc-Center has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9 aces per game. However, it's not like Seneca struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 aces.
