Charleston Math & Science has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Military Magnet Academy Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Charleston Math & Science suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Baptist Hill by a score of 57-55. Even though they lost, Charleston Math & Science's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the defeat, Charleston Math & Science saw an underclassman step up: Zion King scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Simmons, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Military Magnet Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 62-57 to Cross. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Military Magnet Academy in their matchups with Cross: they've now lost four in a row.
Charleston Math & Science has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Military Magnet Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
Charleston Math & Science was able to grind out a solid win over Military Magnet Academy in their previous meeting on January 3rd, winning 53-40. Will Charleston Math & Science repeat their success, or does Military Magnet Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
