After a string of three wins, the Millbrook Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakefield. While losing is never fun, Millbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Wakefield is ranked 103rd).
Millbrook's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lauren Brown, who scored ten points along with four blocks, and Aaliyah Graham who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals. Graham hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Millbrook struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Millbrook's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Wakefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Millbrook will head out on the road to face off against Rolesville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Rolesville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 460 points over their last seven matches. As for Wakefield, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wake Forest at 6:15 p.m. Wake Forest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
